The Digital Culture Compass

Contents

The Digital Culture Compass is a new, FREE online toolkit to support arts, culture and heritage organisations to integrate digital technology into their work.

Digital can help you in lots of ways, from reaching more people with your marketing, to managing your finances better. Want to make the most of digital in your organisation, but not sure where to start? We've got you covered...

The Digital Culture Compass is made up of:

  • a Tracker to help you find out your strong points and areas you might want to develop.
  • a Charter of best practice to give you the inspiration you need on your digital journey.

You can view your progress on the website with the Tracker, and also sign up to the Charter – to show you’re up for the challenge of doing digital better!

More information:

The Digital Culture Compass has been developed as part of the wider Culture is Digital initiative – a set of recommendations made by the DCMS on improving the digital capabilities of arts, heritage and culture. Following research and consultation involving a variety of organisations, we are confident that the tool is uniquely relevant to the needs of the cultural and heritage sectors.

The Digital Culture Compass has been commissioned by Arts Council England in partnership with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. It was developed by a partnership led by The Space and including Creative Co-op, Culture24, The Audience Agency/Golant Innovation and the University of Leicester.

Using the Digital Culture Compass is not mandatory for anyone funded by the Arts Council or The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Instead it’s a freely available optional resource, there for any organisation, at any part of their digital journey.
